Quick Tip: Longer Pillow Box from Sizzix Die

Need a longer pillow box from the Sizzix Pillow Box Die?

It's easy.  Just run two sheets of the same color card stock through the Big Shot (one at a time to make sure you get all the score marks).  Then trim one or both pieces from top to bottom, to get the length you need.  Use Sticky Strip to adhere the two sides together, assemble the box, and cover the seam with a 1/4" strip of contrasting card stock. Decorate the rest of your box.  You can hold the sides together with a small amount of adhesive, or by tieing a matching piece of ribbon around the long ends of the box as shown above.  The "thank you" sentiment was printed from My Digital Studio.

Collage Stamping on a Scrapbook Page

I love collage stamping!  It's such a fun way to make your own background papers to match your photos or card designs.  Collage stamping can take a little time, if you're doing a large piece, like this 12x12 Kraft Card Stock.  The result is worth the effort. 

Simply start with largest stamp you're using and the lightest ink color.  Randomly stamp around the paper, then move to the first smaller stamp and darker ink.  Continue until you've nearly covered the whole page.  You can leave those holes, or fill them in with more stamps in the lightest colors of ink.  If there are larger holes, use the largest stamp again in a darker color (either the same as you started with or use a lighter color for more dimension).  Sponging around the edges of your finished pieces also adds dimension and antiquing to it.
