Wow! I feel like I'm starting all over here. I can't believe how long it's been since my last post. I'm so sorry about that; but, I plan to make up for it by showing you all the things I've been making lately. So, to kick off the holiday season, here is one of my Christmas cards for this year.
The skaters from Winter Post, house from Home for Christmas and trees from Lovely as a Tree are all just perfect for this technique. It's called Cracked Glass, and it's my new favorite technique! I can't believe I waited this long to try it. It's hard to tell in this photo, but the close-ups show it a lot better.
The triangle around the girl was a total accident, but came out great. I admit, I was really nervous about the cracking part because the clear embossed image was so pretty - looked like a high gloss photo. So, I set it aside and after a bit, just picked it up and started cracking. It was actually a bit addictive, and I had to force myself to stop before I put too many cracks in the image. LOL!
I cannot wait to show you how to achieve this fun, vintage look! I am the consummate procrastinator, as most of you know; however, I'm so excited about this technique that I've already scheduled my first class of 2009.
My Cracked Glass Technique Class will be on Monday, January 12, from 9:30am to 12:30pm. The class fee will be $25 per person. You will receive all the materials and instruction to complete a Valentine card and a project in class, plus written instructions to take home. The images will not be holiday/Christmas related, but the focal image on the card and project will utilize the Cracked Glass Technique.
Please register early, as I have limited spaces available. If you would like to host a workshop featuring this technique, please let me know as soon as possible.
Sell-A-Bration (SAB) is just around the corner too! It will run from February 1st through March 30th this year. SAB is the best time of year to hold a workshop, since you earn FREE exclusive stamps sets and accessories for every $50 you spend AND for hosting a workshop with a net total over $350. Call me today to register for the Cracked Glass Technique Class and to schedule your SAB workshop!
Happy Stampin'!
