Lancaster Creations: Snowflake Thanks

Believe it or not, I still have projects and cards to share with you from our Lancaster trip!  This thank you card incorporates more of the snowflake paper I made and used on the previous card, both on the background and on the snowflake (Sizzix Die).  I just sponged on a little Soft Suede ink to help distinguish the snowflake from the background. 

The "thanks" is framed with an element from our Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware.  You can view another card using this combo on the Stamping Around the Clock Facebook Page, HERE.

I also used a half-back pearl from the Pretties Kit, some Blue Taffeta Ribbon, and a piece of patterned paper from Thoroughly Modern.

Lancaster Creations: Plum Thanks

We just got home from a nice long vacation in NJ and PA.  The kids stayed with my parents in NJ for the first week, while Tom and I went to his gaming convention in Lancaster, PA.  He gamed around the clock and, you guessed it, I stamped around the clock!

Over the next several days, I will be showcasing the cards and other items I made while in Lancaster.

I made this faux designer paper on one sheet of Whisper White card stock, but only used the butterflies on one half of the paper.  The other half has the reindeer from Winter Post.  I am posting a card using a piece from that side of the paper on my Facebook Page.  Use the link above to check it out!

One More Baby Scrapbook Page

I love scrapbooking, and really love the challenge of creating new embellishments exclusively with Stampin' Up! products.

This is a page I made for Thomas' first birthday.  It was really fun and easy, and the only time-consuming piece was the teddy bear tag.

 

The title was super quick.  I just stamped the letters from our Just Perfect Alphabet, punched them, and punched slightly larger circles as mats.  These are all adhered to the page with Stampin' Dimensionals.

 

The number one embellishment is a chipboard number from On Board Lots of Letters (inked with Boardering Blue), mounted on the scalloped square chipboard from On Board Essentials (outer piece inked with Chocolate Chip, inner piece left natural).

 

This tag is watercolor paper mounted on a plain piece of cardboard from one of our paper packs.  Once mounted, I ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot using the Clear Circle Die.

I stamped the bear (from Cute & Cuddly) & the balloon (from Crazy for Cupcakes) with Jet Black StazOn ink.  The whole tag is watercolored, using our Watercolor Crayons and Classic Inks.  My brush was one of our Aqua Painters. 

The cupcake is also from Crazy for Cupcakes (from the cupcake tower).  It was watercolored, cut out, and mounted with a piece of a Stampin' Dimensional.  It's hard to see but the Chocolate Chip tab at the top of the tag was also stamped with the cupcake tower.

This is another baby scrapbook page I made this week.  It's 6x6 and could stand alone or easily be incorporated into a larger, progressive page.

Got Baby?

I have babies on the brain!  Although Tom and I are not having more babies, several family members and friends are!
One of the many things I was able to make this week is a set of baby thank you cards.  I made six of these as part of a gift for my cousin, who just had her baby a couple of weeks ago.

I love making my own "faux designer paper," because I can make patterns to fit any theme or color scheme. This one utilizes our Nursery Necessities stamp set.  The "thanks" is from our Thank You Kindly stamp set.  My colors here are Really Rust, Sage Shadow and Crushed Curry.

I had a few card fronts leftover after the cards were complete.  So, I turned them into photo mats for this fun, bright scrapbook page.

When making the cards, I realize that I had cut the card fronts just a tad too big.  I picked up the scraps to throw them away, but noticed that these little strips had fanned out.  I added a few more to form this flower/star burst embellishment!  It's a great example of "SCRAPbooking."  The journal box is from our new specialty paper called The Write Stuff.

Here is a closer photo of the star burst.  I held the pieces together with a brad, then used Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the elephant.

New Mini Scrapbook with Sizzix Clear Die

I just love our new, exclusive Scalloped Square Die for the Sizzix Big Shot!  This is a clear die, so you can lay if over a piece of pattern paper or a photo to line it up exactly where you want it. 

For this scrapbook, I used the clear die to cut our Thick Window Sheets and six squares of Whisper White card stock.  Then, I just added photos from our recent trip, stamped and embellished the cover and inner pages. 

Voila!  A fantastic little "thank you" gift for Grandmom!
