God Bless America on this historic day!
I colored this image over the last few days, but wasn't sure how I wanted to finish the card.
Well, my inspiration came last night with the announcement heard 'round the world!
One more mission accomplished by our fabulous military, with the death of Bin Laden. Heartfelt Thanks and Blessings to our Military for eternal vigilance...
"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." ~Thomas Jefferson
HOOAH!
As for the card itself, the card base is Marina Mist, stamped with images from our Service & Sacrifice (#115992) stamp set. The sentiment is from our Level 3 Hostess Set called Occasional Quotes. I stamped the focal image from our Courage (#115330) stamp set in StazOn, on Whisper White card stock. I colored it using Blender Pens and Classic Ink Pads. I masked the image and used a Brayer to ink the frame around it, then I layered it on Chocolate Chip card stock and adhered the two together.
I didn't like the straight edges of the framing, so I tore the paper (even though it was adhered together) and loved the way it tore leaving the white card stock exposed between the inked part and the chocolate card stock. Then I just adhered that piece to the card front. The red around the edge is just some card stock that I laid the card on for the photo.
Happy Stampin!

How sweet is this card?! It is so simple, yet eye-catching.
When I started designing the card, I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted a baby card that would be easy to replicate. I also knew that I wanted to use the "Bliss" stamp from our Bliss Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set.
I decided on the Bashful Blue/Old Olive combination, then pulled out a retired background stamp. I inked that in Bashful Blue Classic Ink to get the watermark effect on the Bashful Blue Card Stock. To keep with the monotone scheme, I stamped "Bliss" in Pacific Point Classic Ink, and used the same to sponge the edge around the Decorative Label punched piece of card stock. The ribbon is Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain. I also added a touch of sparkle to the left of the ribbon by adding a 1 1/4" strip cut from a Sticky Page and covering it with some of our Light Blue Fine Cosmo Glitter.
These elements all come together quickly, so the card can be easily reproduced.

Well, this is a little belated...I thought I had already posted this card for you.
With a floral background, it could be a pretty wedding or graduation card.
I used Baja Breeze and stamped off Basic Gray for the snowflakes, which I love together for a soft, wintery look.
Here's a peek inside the card:
It's just a little rock'n'roll (stamping in the lighter ink, then 'rolling' gently in the darker ink), but it adds just a little something extra to the interior of the card.

Are You Ready For Some Football...?
How about some Super Simple Scrapbooking for Super Bowl Sunday?
I found these photos a few days ago. They are from July 2002, when we visited family in New York and Connecticut. My Uncle Bill is a huge Green Bay Packers fan, and put the helmet on our then two year old daughter. How stinkin' cute is that?!
I went super simple on these pages, partly because I wanted the photos to stand out, and partly because this is a really bold color combination.
I love that I was able to make all the numbers and letters in our Daffodil Delight to match the rest of both pages. I simply used my Stampin' Up! Sizzix Big Shot with our EXCLUSIVE Timeless Type Junior Alphabet (#115951) die set and adhered them with Tombow MonoAdhesive.
CHALLENGE: What can you do with this year's Super Bowl Colors?
Make any paper crafting project this weekend and email me a photo or scan of it, with a short list of supplies. Please use only Stampin' Up! products. All entries must be recieved by NOON on Monday, February 7th.
I will post all entries next week. One random winner will be chosen and will receive a Stampin' Up! prize package!
Here's a sample from my newsletter, using the Steeler's colors.
Visit me on Facebook to see the other page of my Packers two-page layout! And, don't forget to send me your Super Bowl Challenge Photos!

Mary Shannon turns 9 today! It's so hard to believe that many years have already flown by already.
Red has always been one of her favorite colors, so I knew I wanted to use our Glimmer Paper for her birthday card. I picked the Pony Party set; because when she helped me make her party invitations, that is the set she wanted to use. I will post that card today on Facebook.
Our Circle Scissor Plus made this card a breeze! I love that tool! You can make any circle from 1 to 6 inches. By keeping the cutter on the glass mat after cutting one circle, you can adjust the measure ment and make another circle, giving you these fun frames!
Ingredients:
Peach Parfait card stock
Blushing Bride card stock
Real Red Glimmer Paper
Pony Party Stamp Set
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Circle Scissor Plus
Modern Label Punch
Real Red Marker
Peach Parfait Marker
Real Red Classic Ink Pad
Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
Tombow Mono Adhesive
Stampin' Dimensionals
Stampin' Sponge
I hope you enjoyed Mary Shannon's card as much as she did! Remember to visit me on Facebook @ www.facebook.com/StampingAroundTheClock to see a sample of the slumber party invitations we made with the Pony Party set, too!

The crazy long move is over (although we're still unpacking and trying to find the rest of the Christmas decorations). And, I feel like I can finally get to some stamping and creativitiy, and soon get back to business.
I have lots of projects to make and will share them with you soon.
To get back in the swing of posting, I decided to start with this candle I decorated recently for friends who are newlyweds and new homeowners.
This is a fun and easy way to personalize any jar candle for any occasion.
There have been some concerns about some of the methods of decorating candles for the holidays, especially using tissue paper to add images directly onto pillar candles. This is my solution: a "belly band" that slides easily off the jar, so there are no worries about any potential fire hazard with this gift. (I am sure I'm not the first to do this, but I did not follow anyone else's example or instructions.)
Designer Series Paper and 12x12 cardstock do not quite fit around this particular size candle. So, I just added a small extension to each layer, adhereing everything with Sticky Strip.
Be sure to attach the ends of your cardstock to each other without getting any adhesive on the back of the cardstock. If you hold the cardstock around the jar as you adhere the ends, you can ensure a tight fit without having to tack the paper to the jar. This will allow the recipient to slide the decorative band off when burning the candle, if they so choose, and replace it when the glass has cooled.
Here is how I decorated the lid, too:
After adhering this to the top of the lid, I also added a matching circle on the inside of the lid. That way, when you open the candle and turnover the lid, you do not see any adhesive. Just be sure to remind anyone you give this type of candle to, that they should let the candle cool before replacing the lid.
Have fun creating this holiday season! I'll be back with more ideas real soon...
Happy Stampin'!

I am thankful for many things, among which are my husband and kids, family, friends, freedom, and the fact that we are finally getting settled after a very extended move.
I had these things in mind as I created my fluffy, fat turkey with punches and Sizzix dies, as a project for Thomas' first-grade class. This was the first real project that I've been able to make since moving into the new house, and can't wait to get to work on more projects after celebrating the holiday this weekend.
The kids had a blast making these guys last week! I think the their favorite things on this card were the googlie eyes and getting to punch the two little tags for the waddle. They also got a kick out of using the Sizzix die cut machine.
I hope you all have a fun, relaxed, and safe Thanksgiving weekend!

I made two cards recently for my dear "Rottie" friends (Rottweiller owners).
Obviously, the dog from our D is for Dog set is not a Rottie, but it is the best big dog image we've ever had. I love his little wagging tail!
The cards were both fairly simple, no bling and no bulk; but, they were really fun to make.
The first one, shown here, was for Jackie's birthday. Have you noticed that I am completely in love with our new Decorative Label Punch? It is the best, most versatile shape we have! It's also really easy to make layers for this image.
If you are a member of my newsletter group, you received my version of the tutorial for this in your September Stampin' News.
You can check out an archive of the newsletter HERE. Be sure to check out the tutorial (linked in the newsletter sidebar); then, purchase the Decorative Label Punch so you can play too!

While we wait for our new house to be finished, I'm working with limited supplies; but, I'm having tons of fun designing these "limited supply" cards, scrapbook pages and more!
This versatile card features our Morning Cup stamp set. I love our clear-mount stamps, but this set is available as either a clear-mount or wood-mount set.
There is a little bit of Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper peeking from behind the tea cup images. And, the ribbon is our new Pear Pizzazz 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon.
Since my ink pads are all in storage, I used Markers, a Blender Pen and Stampin' Spots to watercolor all the tea cups. And, the only punches used were our 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Square Punches.
Colors Used: Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Poppy Parade, So Saffron, and Peach Parfait.
