8 Weeks of Hanukkah - #8

Welcome to 8 Weeks of Hanukkah

Cards, Gifts and Bags! I've created cards, tags, gift items and gift bags to share with you over these 8 weeks leading up to the
celebration of Hanukkah. 
The series is in the same format as my 12 Weeks of Christmas, including step-by-step instructions.  Next year, it will be exclusive to my newsletter members.  But, since this is a brand new series, I decided to publish it for everyone.  Unfortunately, this series has been overcome by events, but I will play catch-up and get the rest of my samples to you over the next several days.

This year's final Hanukkah sample is a fun gift bag made from a mini lunch sack.

White Mini Lunch Bag from a big-box craft store

Instructions:

1. Print the Happy Hanukkah sentiment from My Digital Studio in Night of Navy.
2. Cut the sentiment to 1" x 5 1/8" and sponge the edges lightly with Bashful Blue Classic Ink.
3. Trim the top of the bag (while folded) with the Eyelet Border Punch.
4. Cut a piece of Night of Navy card stock to 3 1/4" x 5 3/4" and adhere to the front of the bag with Tombow Liquid Glue.
5. Cut a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper to 3" x 5 1/2" and adhere to the Navy card stock.
6. Punch a piece of the White Waffle Paper with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  Scrunch it in the middle and wrap the prongs of a Silver Glimmer Brad around the middle to secure it.  Fan out the edges and trim if necessary.
7. Attach the waffle paper bow to the glimmer paper with mini glue dots.

Sample #7 is a Glittery Bag made with our Fancy Favor Die and Glimmer Paper.  This bag comes together very quickly, so you can easily make lots of them for all your small gifts!

Instructions:

1. Cut a sheet of 12x12 Glimmer Paper in half, and run it through the Big Shot using the following sandwich layers:  extended cutting pad on bottom, then a card stock shim (if neceessary for your machine), then the die topped with the Glimmer Paper (*glimmer side down), then the exteneded crease pad (add another shim on top if necessary to gain a clean cut).
2. Fold and glue the tabs of the die cut paper to form the bag.
3. Cut 2 pieces of Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon to about 5-6" and attach to the inside of the bag, forming handles.
4. Wrap more Bashful Satin Ribbon around the bag and tie a knot, then trim the excess ribbon.
5. Fill with a tasty treat or a small gift.

Sample #6 is a delicious bag full of Lindor White Chocolate Truffles. 
There are little snowmen on the wrappers, and the colors are a perfect match to our Bashful Blue and Island Indigo. 
I love that our colors cover such a wide array of standard and trendy shades!

Instructions:

1. Stamp the Hanukkah stamp in Island Indigo on Whisper White Card Stock, and trim to 1 3/8" x 2 1/2".  Sponge around edges with more Indigo Ink.
2. Cut the Silver Glimmer Paper to 2 3/4" x a little over 2", then use the edge of the Curly Label Punch to cut the decorative edge as shown above.
3. Cut the Island Indigo Card Stock to 3 1/2" x 6 1/2", then score at 1 3/4" on the short side to make the bag topper.
4. Fill the cello bag with approximately 8 truffels.  Fold down the top of the bag and staple to hold it closed. 
5. Fold the bag topper over the cello bag and secure with SNAIL adhesive.
6. Wrap the Organza Ribbon around the topper and tie a knot on the left side of the topper.
7. Adhere the stamped card stock to the Glimmer Paper with Tombow Liquid Glue, then adhere to the right side of the bag topper with more Tombow.

Sample #5 is a treat with a very simple digital tag tied with Marina Mist Scallop Dots Ribbon.

I found these cute little containers filled with chocolate-covered sunflower seeds, and thought they would make fun little Hanukkah gifts, with just a little extra decoration...

Instructions:

1. Print the menorah image from My Digital Studio and punch with the 2 1/2" Circle.
2. Punch a hole just off-center at the top of the tag with the 1/16" Circle.  
3. Tie a piece of the Marina Mist ribbon into a bow around the top of the container.
4. Thread a piece of baker's twine through the hole in the tag and tie it to the ribbon just under the loop of the bow.

I am very far behind on all my social media fun stuff.  I promise I'll fix that over the next few days.  I rolled right from a fun family trip to Nashville over Thanksgiving into hosting a baby shower, then a vendor opportunity popped up.  So, now that the reality fun is done, I can spend a little more time on our virtual fun.  I will catch up on the 8 Weeks of Hanukkah, and also send out the missed weeks from my 12 Weeks of Christmas newsletters very soon. 

For now, I just want to say a quick thanks to the Marne Community Club for a great holiday luncheon Monday!  I had a blast meeting everyone, and really enjoyed the opportunity to have a vendor table there for you all.

8 Weeks of Hanukkah - #3

This week, I have a digital trifold card that features our Jewish Sayings Stamp Brush Set and Urban Oasis Digital Designer Series Paper.

Instructions:

1.Download and install each of the above digital downloads.
2.Open a new 4" x 9 1/4" Trifold Card, and choose to create your own.
3.In the Design Center (right side of the screen), open the Background Paper Pallette and click on Designer Series Paper.  Add Urban Oasis #1.  This will fill the entire background of all three panels.  Click the second page of the project (bottom of the
screen), and repeat.  This will fill the back of the trifold with the same patterned paper.
4.Add a square punch from the Punches Pallette, fill it with Urban Oasis #11 and add a mat of Early Espresso.  Enlarge the square to stretch across the entire width of the project front, and position similar to the photo above.  Copy and paste this to the back page of the project and position to the same measurement as the front.
5.Add three Basic Pearls, and arrange them on the card front as shown above.  Add drop shadow to each pearl.
6.Add a Decorative Label Punch to the card front, rotate it to verticle and fill it with Whisper White.  Add an Early Espresso mat and drop shadow.
7.Open the Shalom Sayings digital stamp set (from the Jewish Sayings download) and change the color to Baja Breeze.  Add the image to the card, resize to fit the punch and add drop shadow.
8.Add a square punch to the last panel of the front page and size it to fit.  Fill the punch with Whisper White, then add an Early Espresso mat and drop shadow.
9.Insert the sentiment from the Jewish Greetings stamp brush set (from the Jewish Sayings download).  Change the color to Early Espresso and resize to fit the punch.
10.Save your project.  Now, you're ready to print cards at home or order them through the Stampin' Up! printer service.

Instructions:

1.Download and install the Jewish Holiday Sayings Digital Stamp Brush Set.
2.Open a new project in My Digital Studio.   In the Stamps section of the Resource Palette, set the color to Night of Navy.  Add, size and arrange the menorah (about 2" x 3 1/8") from the Hebrew Holidays and the sentiment (about 2 1/2" x 2 1/4") from the Jewish Greetings stamp sets that are included in the Jewish Holiday Sayings Stamp Brush Set.  See image above.
3.Save and print.  Note:  If making multiple cards, you can fit up to three sets of images on one page.
4.Cut out the pair of images as one focal piece, measuring 3 1/4" x 5".  Sponge the edges with So Saffron Classic Ink.
5.Cut a sheet of Night of Navy card stock in half at 4 1/4" x 11" and score at  5 1/2" to make the card base.  Cut the remaining card stock to 3 7/16" x 5 1/8".  Adhere the focal piece to this one. 
6.Cut Silver Glimmer Paper to 3 1/8" x 5 3/8".  You will also need a strip cut at 1/4" x 5 1/2".
7.Adhere the focal piece to the Glimmer Paper and add that to the front of your card, as pictured above.  Add the strip of Glimmer Paper below that, to break up the space at the bottom of the card.
8.Ink one Star of David on the Hanukkah stamp, using the Night of Navy Stampin' Marker, and stamp it on a scrap of Whisper White card stock.  Punch out using the Bitty Circle Punch.
9.Punch a scrap of Daffodil Delight card stock with the 1/2" Circle Punch.  Layer and adhere this behind the Star of David, and attach to the strip of Glimmer Paper.  See photo for placement suggestion.

We begin with a beautifully rustic hybrid card.
All the main elements of this card were created in My Digital Studio, then colored and distressed with Stampin' Up's
Distressing Essentials, Cutter Tool and Inks.

Instructions:

1. Download and install our Jewish Holiday Sayings Stamp Brush bundle, which includes three stamp brush sets (Hebrew Holidays, Jewish Greetings and Shalom Sayings).
Also, download and install our Well Worn Designer Series Digital Paper (DSDP).

2. Open a new project in My Digital Studio (or in an alternate program if you do not yet have My Digital Studio).  Add the menorah from Hebrew Holidays and adjust the size to approximately 2" x 3 1/8".  If you are using My Digital Studio, you can also change the color to Not Quite Navy.

3. Add the "Happy Hanukkah" sentiment from Jewish Greetings to your project, adjusting the size to approximately 1" x 2 1/2".  Again, in My Digitial Studio, change the image color to Not Quite Navy.

4.  On a separate "page," insert the Well Worn DSDP using paper image #4.

5.  Save and print your project on Whisper White card stock.  You can arrange multiple images on one page to print several sets of images at a time, and print multiple sheets of the DSDP.

6. Color your menorah image using Blender Pens and Classic Ink Pads as listed above. When coloring the candle sticks, make them as dark or light as you wish by swiping off more or less ink from the Blender Pen prior to coloring.  I used very little ink here, which makes the candles look almost silver in color.

7. Cut our your images with a paper trimmer, and distress the edges of each piece with the distressing blade on the Cutter Tool.  Ink all edges with the Mahogany and Tea Stain ink spots from the Distressing Essentials Kit.  Also, sponge each ink lightly onto both focal pieces to achieve the rustic, aged look.

8.  Cut two pieces of the printed DSDP, one measuring 3/4" x 5 1/4" and one measuring 2 3/4" x 5 1/4". 
Cut the So Saffron textured card stock to 4" x 5 1/4". 
Cut the Not Quite Navy card stock to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".

9.  Score the Not Quite Navy card base at 4 1/4" to form a verticle card.  Then adhere the focal images to the larger piece of DSDP, and mount that on the So Saffron card stock.  Add the smaller strip of DSDP, and adhere the embellished card stock to the front of the card base.

Order Stampin' Up! product Grab Bags while supplies last, in the Online Store. These grab bags will come in three sizes: the $5, the $10, and the $15 grab bag. Each bag will contain a variety of discontinued products that could include a combination of any of the following: ribbons, Accents & Elements, chipboard, Designer Series Papers, and Simply Sent kit components. Grab bags will not contain stamp sets or tools.

Please keep the following in mind:

• Grab bag orders can only be placed on demonstrator orders or in the Online Store.
• There is no minimum purchase required to participate in the grab bag special offer.
• There is no limit to the number of grab bags a customer may purchase; however, grab bag items are only available while supplies last. 
• All grab bag sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.
• Not all grab bags will be unique.
• You should use the following item numbers when ordering grab bags:

125873	$5 Grab Bag (containing at least $20 worth of products!)
125874	$10 Grab Bag (containing at least $40 worth of products!)
